  3. How does the audit affect my rate?

    There are many variables included in the calculation of a Facility's rate, therefore the true impact of an audit cannot be determined until the final audit report has been implemented into the Rate Computation System.

  8. What is the password to unprotect the Annual Cost Report sheets?

    We do not give out the passwords for these files. If you need a sheet unprotected please email your Annual Cost Report as an attachment to Liz Maglio or Mary Chattelle indicating which page(s) that you want unprotected and we can send it back to you unprotected.

  9. What/where are the allowable cost caps?

  10. What is the field review process?

    A field review follows the time-line below:

    1. The audit is scheduled. The Facility will receive a call from our office to schedule the audit. Approximately one month notice is given to the Facility.

    2. After the audit is scheduled, a document request form (DRF) will be faxed to the Facility. Requested documentation such as reconciliations and expense schedules are sent back to our office.

    3. When schedules are received, sample selections are faxed back to the Facility so the needed documentation will be available at the start of fieldwork. Selections are sent 1-2 weeks prior to the audit start date.

    4. The Facility can expect the fieldwork to take one week.

    5. At the end of the scheduled week, the Facility will receive a written request for any documentation that has not been provided. The Facility has ten business days to respond.

    6. Approximately one to three months later, the audit is technically reviewed. The technical reviewer may request additional information and/or documentation. The Facility will have 13 business days to respond to this request.

    7. Approximately one to three months after the Facility's response to the 13-day request, a draft of the audit report will be faxed to the Facility. At this time the closing conference will also be scheduled.

    8. When the Facility is sent a draft of the audit report, pursuant to PA 05-195, the Facility has 30 days to respond to the findings in the report.

    9. After the closing conference is held, the report is finalized and revised rates are issued to the State.

    10. The State sends a copy of the final report and a rate letter detailing the revised rates.

    11. The Facility may exercise appeal rates at this time.
